Re: MG42 full auto malfunction issue

Using the original MG42 booster cone and flash hider solves the problem, it runs fine with both barresl and all three bolts. I don't understand the mechanism of the failure to function with the other FH. The barrel stop is solid, and it's making good contact with the barrel extensionand it's not ang...

Re: MG42 full auto malfunction issue

It's not a weld up, and it runs OK in 8mm. From what I can tell, the barrel extensions look the same, the contact on the recoup plunger is good, the door closes fully and there is no contact with the door and barrel until the door is open about 30 degrees. The latch and spring seem fine. The flash h...

MG42 full auto malfunction issue

I've got an MG42 that I've just gotten a 7.62x51 conversion installed. Two barrels (new) bushing, flash hider, top cover and feed tray. The gun does run in 8mm, but I've got only a small lot of brass cased Yugo left, which is not totally reliable, with the ocassional light strike/dud. The kit instal...

Does anyone have a source for two of the sling hooks used on the Lafette shoulder straps?

Re: MG42 sound Recording

Dan, I've got 2 MG42's, plus a host of other WWII weapons here at Gunsite in AZ (near Prescott). We'll be having an Automatic Weapons class on October 7 and 8, where we'll fire all of the MG's in inventory. If that date won't work for you, we can set somthing up for you for the price of the ammo. Ca...

Glad you liked it! It's been languishing in a PD property room since 1998, it should have a good home. I did score some goodies for myself, and since I already have a perfectly good post sample, it seemed a good idea to post it at a reasonable price.

SOLD PENDING FUNDS - WTS: MG34 Kit, no receiver

From a PD trade in. The kit is in excellant condition, the bore is like new, the bolts show little use. Missing are the recoil spring, receiver and small attached parts, dust cover, cams, etc. There are two complete bolts, the grip has bakelite panels in very good shape, there is a set of aluminum p...

Looks like I was about 3 degrees out of square. Engaging the front lug and a little pressure on the butt and it lines up nicely now. Good tight fit. Great tripod in excellent condition from RTG, only $400!

M53 tripod fit problem

Just got a new MG3 tripod (disa) from RTG. My M53 front tripod lug is either a couple thou too wide or the receiver is not perfectly square, it won't even enter the front block. Anybody know the spec for the width of the block and the opening in the tripod lock. My calipers are up at the shop, I'll ...
