Re: Whats it worth...

Yep, that was my last, and cherised kit. I have some medical bills that are eating me alive, and have to be paid. It was an all-German kit with both 308/8mm components, AND all the semi components ready for installation from Thompson Machine. I had over $2000 in that kit and it brought only a littl...

Re: camping, again

Bet you didn't know that you were camping in the company of the Abominable Snowman, did you? Look carefully at the left area of the last picture. You can clearly see the Yeti moving away from you. There was more excitement going on there than you knew!     ...

Especially when you do it twice in a row -- I think you meant: "There'll be no living with him now..."

Sorry, DA -- I just couldn't help it.

We love 'ya, man!

Re: camping, again

Nice pictures, Michael -- especially that georgeous blue water in the glacier lake. You have some really nice scenery in your area. I'd love to see some more. In fact, it would be nice to see everybody's pictures of especially beautiful scenery in your part of your country. How about a few snaps, g...

Re: 1. Voters

It was so gratifying to see so many voters turn out at the "townhall meetings" that awaited vacationing senators and representatives -- at least, that is, for those who had the courage to face their people at all. I noticed that a number of them are using their break to conveniently vacation with th...

Re: 1. Voters

[quote="Chuckm"]I guess the saddest thing is that ALL politicos are just interested in getting re-elected. NOTHING else matters to them. I also have been annoyed that way to many sheepole just shrug and don't vote. Hopefully they will vote in 2010 (IF there is an election) and remove "his holiness, ...

Re: GeeDeeEmm's Semi Auto Build

Bug nets! Now, there's an idea. Actually, I keep them beaten back with good, soaking doses of Off. Keeps them off me almost everywhere, except when they get behind my glasses. Man, that IS aggravating. :? That's where the nets would come in handy.

Re: 1. Voters

Salt, I think 2010 will mark a year when coaxing voters to the box will be much easier than in the past. I say that for this reason: since my teenage years I've been frustrated and sometimes maddened by my friends', relatives', and aquaintances's near total lack of interest in politics. Even when th...

Re: GeeDeeEmm's Semi Auto Build

Thanks, Michael -- I was really thrilled to come across this kit when it was offered by a member of this board, and extra happy once I saw it in the flesh. Especially the cuts. They just required minimal cleaning up and matching, and that means a lot to me. I hate having to fill huge gaps. Once thi...

Re: GeeDeeEmm's Semi Auto Build

Next up is alligning the receiver pieces in preparation for welding. I'll be using the same jig used by most other builders here. There are already pics and directions posted for constructing the jig, so I won't bother reposting the same information. I used a couple of different sizes of all-thread...

GeeDeeEmm's Semi Auto Build

Well, I've put this off long enough. Time to get this gun together before summer is gone. I still don't have 220v run to my shop, so I'll be forced to take the gun to my son's shop to use my TIG welder. I'll use my MIG welder to do the initial tacking and other initial welds, then move to the TIG w...

Re: Where to buy MG3 Tripod

The the guy in Germany's ebay username is Fortvaux, he screwed me on $86 worth of stuff... never sent it and won't answer emails. OOPS! Sad to hear of that kind of nonsense. I know he sold a bunch of the tripods -- several of them to people on this board. I wonder what makes a guy do good in a numb...

Re: Where to buy MG3 Tripod

Glenn, The MG3 tripod of mine that you used a few weeks ago was purchased off ebay from a gentleman in Germany. It was brand new, still in factory boxes, and included the optics. Shipped to my door it cost under $225. I managed to dig up the guy's name and email address. I'm sending them to you via...

Those pics are from this Military Photos site: http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/index.php I've been glued to this site for several days now. Wow. There are some phenominal pics there throughout the site in several headings. They also have some great photos, paintings, and posters that look grea...
