Re: Gun Show Finds

Bottom picture/question.....Yes, all Vickers items, steel feedblock, firing pin, water jacket plug, jacket connector quick connect fitting, etc. Good find. Steel feedblocks are WWII vintage, probably Aussie.....look for a 'MA' stamping.

Good spares to have.

Looking for a NOS condition, original manufacture, SPRING for the bolt latch on the MG-34.

Also the DRIFT PIN that mounts the latch to the receiver.

Let me know what you have, etc......

Richard....Sorry, I just stopped back in and saw your post.......

Answer is.....I don't know! Like I said this earlier version seems very hard to find much information on. All I know about Italian service guns is in alignment with more standard versions.....

I am clueless.

Re: MG42/59 Booster cone needed.

Spiggs...... Pretty good discussion already on your options, so am not sure I can add much but I'll throw out some thoughts at least... -First off, your gun was not "made" by "Beretta", not in the normal sense of the word at least. The vast majority of the parts will be found to have made under subc...

More to the point, if you have any experience with welding and metallurgy, you will immediately discern that "welds" pictured are fake- http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/z/Xu8AAOSwkNZUkqgJ/$_57.JPG?rt=nc These are not true metal displacement welds, i.e., joining of two separated pieces by combi...

The only connection this mount ever had with a German soldier are the fancy drawings on the IMA homepage. You are of course quite correct, I just never mentioned it in my original post because I figured that was pretty well known by all. Oh well...... Still, I hold to my statement though, hands dow...

I think you have much more of a problem here than you think.
This was a questionable receiver to begin with, and now he hasn't responded in more than 2 months??

Re: WTS: Demillled MG42 Saw-cut complete receiver $1000 now

So, let me ask an important question here. Just to clarify...... From the included pictures supplied, it seems that the (legal) "firearm receiver" section (rear section) appears to be fully re-manufactured back to the original machine gun specifications as originally manufactured. Correct? I am aski...

I'll answer that one... Yes he did, and in doing so ruined a gorgeous all matching original mg-15. He drilled holes into the bottom and adapted a picatinny rail. :puk: -Seth Ohhhhh, it was MUCH worse than THAT, Seth....as you well know. Re: barrel extensions

WARNING! -DO NOT- heat the barrel extension past water-temperature boiling point! It is critically heat treated and any attempt to heat to even annealing temperature, which could be as low as 400 def F, will destroy the temper and risk cracking. That means no "propane torch" or similar. The correct ...

Okay.......seems we've rounded a corner here and are taking this topic back to the ST-61 thread. Not to go undo that whole thread, but here are some salient points to consider with your question, Phil, much of which has already been put out there in the ST-61 discussion. There are some "solid" clari...

Re: Finally got to test fire the MG15 yesterday.....

Interesting mount idea........I can see what you mean by its shortcomings. The MG15 was NEVER meant to be mounted on anything less than a freeswinging mount really, and a good stand-up AA tri-pod seems to be ideal in this day and age. You need to be standing UP behind it. Even on its original ground...

Seth- that is a weird stamping there......might just go to show how far gone was their industrial capacity by that point. Also, perhaps if they did switch to another production line for the Navy guns at that point it may be be that there did not exist at that location yet a suitable set of proper en...
