Scott, if you plan on doing the bolt mods with a drill & dremel, save yourself a lot of grief and sell the kit. it is hard as glass and it is a precision part that needs to be done in a mill and lathe. the 34 is not forgiving like the 42. if you are planning on slapping it together you will only rui...

we will have vickers plates in stock soon and will be taking in kits to do builds after the first of the year. we are also working on getting in maxim plates. we also have some wise lite mg42 receivers coming in this week or next week with some repairable defects that we will be selling at a discount.

you need to weld in a plate to support the return spring then it will work.

how much you leave depends on how straight you can cut them and how you plan on squaring them. I would leave a minimum of .050" on them then square one side and carefully fir the other. as for your question Bil, I would cut them square and fill the remaining gap unless you have a mill and can accura...
