Re: ARGHHH! To Hades with you!

I eyeballed the trigger gate and used the trigger bar top end of travel with the safety installed. The safety pin dictates how far up in the receiver it will go. Anyways, I measured it last night and I came in at something like .461. I think that will be close enough. I will only really be able to t...

Re: 34 kit

What do the receiver sections look like? Where are they cut? I bought a '34 kit and the pictures were somewhat deceptive. The receiver cuts were in the worst possible places and it was unusable for anything other than scrap filler sections.

Re: Need someone to mill my bolt/carrier

PM sent to above. Check yer box......

I know Stan is crazy busy with his current batch of RPK's. Due to severe time limits with work, I want a substantially short turn around time.

Does anybody have a good contact email for Pirate? I seem to have an old link.......

Need someone to mill my bolt/carrier

I need someone to mill my bolt and carrier to accept the TNW semi parts. Price and quick turnaround is paramount. Anyone have any suggestions?

ARGHHH! To Hades with you!

I started my day fitting the TNW semi auto trigger bar. Seeing how there is NO reference out there and no one here ever seems to answer the really technical questions, I just had to file and pray for the best. So I milled out the trigger gate and made a new one with some 3/16th scrap. I got out my o...

Need help with TNW trigger assy.

I received my TNW semi trigger parts today. Rather, I received a bag of screws, springs and parts and some blueprints. The prints are fine but they dont show me how it all goes together. I know I can figure it all out a soon as I see how it all fits........ I need, specifically, 1)A picture of the b...

Re: 34 barrel wont fit

Let me ask the very silly question.....did you rotate the bbl as you put it in the shroud? You need to let it drop into place. I just say this because if you dont let it fall into place, it sticks about 2 inches out.......

Re: Holy shiznizzle, it all fits and works!!!

180 for their 'small parts kit' which allow you to do the semi conversion. Trigger gate, sear, spring, etc. Did a search on 'mg34 bolt rollers', all there was info on was disassembly, nothing about putting them back on. I know its just the opposite but those spring clips dont wanna compress inwards.

Re: Holy shiznizzle, it all fits and works!!!

TNW called me back. The girl who took the order messed up an quoted me on an an assembled pistol grip. The semi mod kit is still 180 bucks. (they did want over 250 bucks to machine my bolt for me, I told them I would try and farm it out locally......) So, I took my bolt apart last night. Any easy wa...

Re: Holy shiznizzle, it all fits and works!!!

Ill be doing the bolt mods myself or trying to find local shop to do them. Machine shops around here SUCK and they charge an arm and a leg. It seems the first words out of their mouth is always 'bout a hundred bucks, maybe more........'

I sent the jig back today, thanks again.

Re: Holy shiznizzle, it all fits and works!!!

Mild SS rod, per Pirates tutorial. Look, I dont wanna sound punchy but Ive been trying to get answers about the TNW trigger forever now. Are there other options? How does the TNW work? Ive looked at all the pics but I just cant see how a sear/trip works with it. Im going to call them today and order.

Holy shiznizzle, it all fits and works!!!

My receiver welding is done. Due to the general condition of my kit (yucky), I opted to have a friend TIG it up using a borrowed jig. (Thanks Bill!) He did it for free, I figured worst case it would be a display gun. Lemme tell you something...I had the top cover, feed tray, charging handle, bolt an...

Re: mg34 reciever

Cut up a perfectly good receiver when it was 'about' 90% complete? It sounds too good to be true for that price. Im betting it will finish out in the 1000 dollar range before the auction is over.

Re: Rotary Tool Advice

Ive got a variable speed Black and Decker, pretty sure its from Wally world. This thing has eaten more slag and dressed more welds than I can count. Im sure Ive gone thru an entire rock quarry of stone wheels. (Most of them shattered, ending up somewhere on my cheeks) The multi speed setting is the ...

Re: reweld done, do I need to heat treat?

My welder called me again and brought up the heat treating issue. What is annealing, and can I do it at home with nothing more than MAPP gas? (Yes, Ive got a very basic understanding of heat treating?)

Re: Blueing

No, but Parkerizing is WAY easier than I ever thought. I mean, the hardest part is finding a SS container for the parts. Clean parts, hit with degreaser. Boil solution, dip for 20 minutes, blow dry, hit with WD40....done. (solution can be purchased for as little as 29 bucks on ebay....)
