Re: Proper method to restore ammo can

Thanks for the paint link. A buddy and I are building a blasting cabinet for this and other projects. The main reason for blasting is to more easily remove the crud jammed into every nook of the ammo box. Most of the paint is already gone from the outside and is bare metal and rust. The inside of th...

Re: Where to buy MG3 Tripod

IO used to have them in lower grades for good prices. Of course they sold out the week after I got my M53. :? I was in the same boat as you. I only found them at SG, IO and RobertRtg. +1 for Robert. The ones he sells on GB are a little cheaper but are not as nice as the ones he sells thru his websit...

Proper method to restore ammo can

I recently found a wartime German ammo can that has definately seen better days. It's in decent shape for it's age. It appears to originally have been a dark green. Much of the paint is gone and there is so much dirt, crud and minor rust I figured I would try to restore. I plan on sand blasting the ...

Re: Review of John Baum's German Manuals

I've dealt with John twice now and both times could not have been better. The manuals are nice and were shipped very quickly. I received them both within a few days. Can't ask for more than that!

Re: MG3 Flash hider on M53

So after borrowing an old crappy pitch gauge, the pitch is the same. But the gauge would not sit into the starting thread of the MG3 FH. The thread is tighter. It almost looks pushed in on itself but it's uniform. It starts but only goes about 1/3 rotation and stops. The M53 FH spins on like butter....

MG3 Flash hider on M53

I've been trying to put together the .308 conversion parts for my M53 SA. I tried threading a MG3 flash hider onto the M53 but the threads are different. It won't even start. They appear more coarse on the MG3 FH. I assumed (yes I know) they were the same. Is that correct or did I found the one-in-a...

Re: Wise Lite Arms ROCKS!!!!

I recently purchase a WLA M53 and I am very happy with it. After several hundred rounds and no probs, I can't complain. Knowing that WLA has built many other firearms and had problems, I researched the crap outta their M53 builds. From what I could find, they had many more positives than negative re...

Newb WLA M53 on AA tripod question

Hello all, I have been absorbing the great info on the sight since ordering my WLA M53 a few months ago. I love it! Anyway, I have a question I could not find an answer to after doing some searching. Does it hurt to hang the M53 from the barrel shroud on the AA tripod for extended periods of time(da...
