Re: MG3 belt loader conversion

Thanks, looks like you welded on the front or right side of the hopper. Saw some welds on the opposite side too.
No interference with the belt feed?

Re: bolt carrier and semi sear problem

Thanks Harry, I just would like a picture of the inside of the carrier where the semi sear seats, view looking down the bore from the rear would be great, if you have time.

Re: bolt carrier and semi sear problem

Did TNW do the conversion on your bolt? Interesting that the print vs their machining for the relief cut on the back are different. I would be curious to see a shot of the step inside the carrier where the semi sear seats. That's where I had my problem. I'm hoping the sear holds up, $140 for a new o...

bolt carrier and semi sear problem

I finally got the 34 running this week, ran about 30 rds first time and another 100 before it quit. Got it home and disassembled to find that the semi sear was not latching when trying to cock the bolt. Turns out that the sear shoulder outer diameter had begun to hammer into the step in the bolt car...

Re: MG34 ejector issue

It lives!!! It lives!!!. I put a little tig 4140 filler rod on the end of the ejector pin and turned it ( super hard) back to dia. and reprofiled the end to just clear the ejector plate. Took it to the range and ran 30 rds. without a hitch, doesn't ding the cases at all. Ran out of time, will fill a...

Re: MG34 ejector issue

Thanks, I think I did trim it too short. Got another on order from TNW. May try a little tig weld on it in the mean time.

MG34 ejector issue

I am having issues with cases not ejecting and jamming back into the breech area. I am using a 10mm booster cone and a TNW ejector. I think I trimmed the ejector too short and would like to see some pics of one trimmed to the right config. with a case in the bolt. Help is really appreciated. I've fi...

Re: MG34 ejector issue

I installed a 10mm booster cone and get the same empty case jam. I also replaced the ejector pin with one from TNW. I may have taken too much material off the ejector pin when fitting it. Does anyone have a picture of the proper fit of a ejector pin with a cartridge seated in the bolt face? Thanks, CT

Re: MG34 ejector issue

Thanks, I have a 9mm booster cone and a new 11mm. I was using the 11mm. I will drill out the 9mm to 10mm and I have also installed a new (TNW) ejector. I hope I have to ground too much off the back for clearance. I use a dummy round and chamber it then manually cock the bolt to get the ejector actio...

MG34 ejector issue

Has anyone seen this before? ejector? booster cone? I just replaced my 9.5mm with a new 11mm and fixed the feed jamming issue, now I have this problem. Here is a pic, a spent case turned around and fed back into chamber and a new round fed in a same time.

TNW MG34 cycle issues

I assembled a TNW receiver/semi auto bolt parts on a MG34 kit. Modified and the bolt with TNW parts, lapped the ways in. Receiver cams installed, rivets polish smooth and receiver edges blended into the cams. Using original style new trigger spring to lighten cocking. Lots of stoning and polishing. ...

Re: Quick question

I thought N. Dakota was pretty nice. I lived there for ten years in about 2 years time period. Things move slow up there and seem to never end. Worked for Clark Melroe Bobcat in Gwinner.

Re: failure to extract

Ran a 10.5mm booster cup on my 42 for about 50 rounds of Romanian 150 gr. without an ejector problem. Changed back to a 11.5mm and now it feeds like a champ, feeds Yugo heavy ball and Romanian light with no hickups. Just took a little exercise to loosen it up I believe. Now on to build no.2. Thanks ...

Re: failure to extract

Ok, finally got to the range. I took some Romanian and some Yugo 8mm ammo. The steel case Romy would not cycle well, I think it must be light ball. The Yugo worked well, finally got the ejector to function. I shot 20 rounds without a hangup. Now, I'd like to find some 11mm and 10.5 mm booster cones....

Re: failure to extract

Well, I've gone through everything I can. I milled .020 off the slots in the bolt carrier which gives me an exact line to line lock with the ejector button, extension and plunger with all bolt parts in the compressed/retracting state. I checked for interference of the bolt and rails, the bolt will s...

Re: failure to extract

That last question about the empty being ejected first was a dumb one, I know better. My mind is numb from thinking about it half the day and screwing with it the other half.

Re: failure to extract

Just tried placing an empty cartridge in the bolt and using the buffer (all extrenal from the gun) to push on the extractor button. If I push on the extractor button with the buffer or anything else, the cartridge pops out partially, still caught by the extractor at an angle, slight push either way ...

Re: failure to extract

I did the barrel/recuperator test when I built the gun and just tested it again, works great, not sluggish. Ejector will eject an unfired round if chambered and cycled. Booster is 11.5mm and I'm using a fresh can of AIM Rommy 8mm. Bolt slides freely, extension doesn't interfer with buffer spring. I ...
