Re: Tac Com 3MR trigger anyone use one

I put one of TAC-CON's into an ARES MCR belt fed and it works as advertised. It does require some technique and practice with it. I found 3-4 shot bursts real easy, more than that will take more practice on my part. Gotta load more ammo!

Re: Mill Lathe combo unit

Greetings, I have a Smithy 1340 Granite mill/lathe combo here at home and have done several rebarrel jobs and some other builds with with it. Accuracy seems real good. As always keep your set up tight and use dial indicators even though the dials are good on this machine. I run an 80'' bed, 16'' chu...

Re: Bluing Specialist Wanted

I think the nitre bluing is probably the closest to the original finish. They will preserve all the markings and can make the finish without any bright sheen to it. Best thing to do is get a hold of Glenrock, talk to Phil or Doug and tell them what you need. They don't charge for quotes.

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head

I forgot to mention when you check for firing pin protrusion with the bolt in the rails and the rollers all the way in that you will need to press the rear firing pin forward as far as possible with your finger and then check to be sure that the front firing pin does not protrude past the bolt face....

Re: Disassembly of a Wise Lite bolt head

The bushing on the Wiselite bolt head us part of their conversion to semi auto. Wiselite uses a 2 piece firing pin design utilizing the original firing pin modified as the front pin. An original firing pin has a dia. of 3.95 to 4.0 mm. The modified pin leaves the last 1/4" at its original dia. so it...

Soviet Troops and the MG42

Just watched an episode of WWII in color on the Military Channel. About half way through this episode it showed some of Marshall Zhukov's troops pausing for resupply at the Oder river prior to the final push to Berlin. While watching some Soviet infantrymen moving along a roadway I noticed a couple ...

Re: reloads in a semi?

Greetings USNmars, here's the reloading specs that I use in my Wiselite M53 semi auto in 8mm. With Remmington 185gr. sp bulk bullets I load 49.5 grains of IMR 4350 and I also use CCI #34 primers. The bullets are seated to an overall cartridge length of 3.050 inch. Now this leaves the cannilure outsi...

Re: Transit Cases: wooden vs modern

The wooden transit cases look really good and are well suited for authenticity and display and work ok for shipping but I've found that without extra padding and some bubble wrap things get rattled around especially on rough roads etc. Personally I use a padded case from Gun Guard that has egg crate...

Re: MG42 Loading Sequence

When I center drilled my bullets in the lathe I used a 5C collet holder and an 8mm dia. 5C collet. The collet will center the bullet nicely as well as hold it tight, then put the collet holder in the lathe chuck and your drill chuck in the tail stock with a 1/16 drill bit and your all set. Works gre...
