Re: SALE 1 only Panzerscreck RPzB 54
So, is anyone else hoping that IMA bought this thing so they could copy it? I have been searching for a repro 54 for a few years now. Everything I've run across has been kinda cheesy. It'd be great if IMA could put together good copies of this thing and then sell them for ~500 or so. I'd jump on tha...

Re: MG42 Loading Sequence
OK, I understand drilling the holes in the case to help ID the dummy rounds, but a live primer? Will the holes in the case actually vent the pressure out? The round will be chambered - so how will that work? The chamber wall will keep the pressure in, forcing the bullet out of the case ... right? Wh...

Thoughts & prayers out to our friends in Norway.
As the details emerge the news just gets more & more saddening.
It's infuriating that the most this guy will face is about 20 years in prison.

Re: Barrel prices
They have another acution running too. The prices are a little lower - $110/115. I'd think it'd be tougher to sell the 8mm barrels now that all the big online ammo sellers are sold out of 8mm ammo. I have some Yugo & Romy 8mm, not alot. I actually have more surplus .308. I only have one .308 MG42/3/...

Re: Need a 2 cut mg42 receiver???
Are you talking about the ears that the 2 rivets go through? I have 1 gun that looks like that. I'm sure it is a German receiver. Did the rules always require three cuts? Maybe this gun was demilled a while back? Being cut the way it is now, would it require a blocking bar? Doesn't it technically be...

Re: Rail Rivets?
I had a longer reply typed out but it vanished somehow. I'll simply say that butting the rails into the top corners of the receiver is not the correct method for positioning them. They must be parallel to one another and they must follow the center line of the barrel. Good luck and have fun - after ...

Re: Need a 2 cut mg42 receiver???
The two spare barrel shrouds are clearly Yugo. The adjustment knobs on the bipods indicate that they are likely Yugo as well.
It's hard to be sure, but the cut barrel shroud also looks like a Yugo gun. We'd need better photos of the top.
Why do you think this sale is trouble?

Re: Rail Rivets?
Just do a google search for rail rivet sellers... "MG42 Rail Rivets" ...works every time. The rails DO NOT but up against the top of the receiver...wow. Spend A LOT of time reading this forum, buy some books, read A LOT more, do some research. Please, don't rush into - or through - a SA42 build. Tak...

Re: Osama is dead!
Pakistan is a rather unique 'ally' of ours. They are an Islamic nation ... and they have nuclear weapons. We have to keep them on our 'side' so that we can keep track of those weapons. That's partly why we send them so much financial aid every year. It sucks, but that's the way it goes. The fear is ...

Yeah sure - I agree completely - lots of stuff could have been happening at Wise Lite that the general public knows nothing about.
As for Century - well, even a busted clock is right twice a day, LMAO!

Is there a new source for Booster Cone Sets now that Wise Lite is gone? Ruh-Roh. Must have not been paying attention again.......Okay, so what has happened to Wise-Lite? Out of business I presume? Why? What happened? -TomH That's the magic of capitalism - make good stuff & you will flourish ... mak...

Re: M53 catastrophy
Where are you guys seeing a price of $390 for 1000 rounds? We're talking about the Prvi Partizan FMJ, right?
Did the price go up, 'cuz I'm seeing a price of $8.95 per box of 20?
That works out to $447.50 for 1000 rounds.
What am I missing?

Re: MG42 lafette disassembly
Isn't the extra length added on at the rear of the receiver on the WL guns?
Anyhow, I took a look at my Lafette 42. That block looks like it's rivited on - right through the center with one rivit.

Re: MG42 lafette disassembly
How much is it off? Are you sure it's not just too much paint? Sounds silly, but after I blasted and repainted mine, the gun was a tight fit until the paint wore off of the mating surfaces, LOL. I think I would modify the block on the bottom of the gun before I modified a Lafette 42. Do you have a D...

Re: just curious about converting to .308
I don't know what you're talking about concerning long or short barrel bushings. As far as I know there are MG42 or MG3 barrel bearings. Just use them with the appropriate booster set and you'll be fine. Why would you want to drill out a booster cone? The 7.62 cones should have a hole of 10mm or so...

Is there a new source for Booster Cone Sets now that Wise Lite is gone? Or is the only option to get German cones and drill them out?
What about long vs short barrel bushings?

Well, dang it, I missed out on the one John was selling (I had to work all day, no web access there, lol), so I am still looking for a booster soaking can and an AA spider sight.
