Re: German marked MG42 Dust Cover??
Morning all, Well guess I must have an oddity dust cover, the only one I have or ever looked at,by the way. It's marked 3 places on the outside and once inside! The outside marks are the following-- 1-BK in a circle. 2-U inside a mark in the shape of a shot glass. 3-A small k in a circle, very small. I...

Re: spring assembly in M53 bolt
DA, :? What am I missing here? The" bolt catch" fills the space needed for s.a. firing pin, correct? I sure do not see how the "bolt catch"could be used in a s/a mg-42 conversion. The firing pin return spring,in the s/a conversion, seems to act in some what the same fashion except with considerably le...

Re: Recuperator bolt hole location
Morning Richard,
Thanks for your time. The info in item 2 was the answer I needed.
I have a set of front rec. chunks and am trying to see if assembly is possible or maybe I need a more complete section. This would be a s/a build.
Again thank you. cz2.

Re: Recuperator bolt hole location
Hi again,  Guess If I had the whole rec.,not just the front half I would have noticed the rail and recouperator in the way of the measurement! So from another angle--- I am trying to establish the recuperator to bbl. dimension in the front rec. section. Established reference points. 1 T...

Recuperator bolt hole location
Morning all, A question on recuperator location in relation to the bbl.The forward mounting hole for the recuperator is the critical one, correct? The rear hole is slotted allowing considerable fore/aft movement and the rear of recuperator is rough finish,so nothing exacting there.I understand the ta...

Masterangler,
An observation concerning your 'light strike". In the last picture is the front trigger housing hanger limiting the foreward travel of the hammer?

MattC, Well, for what it's worth I tightened up the buffer to butt connection on mine with a 3/32"dia. "O" ring of the correct i.d.Standard hardware part in the plumbing dept.I am sure "as issued"parts were a better fit, but, with mix-master :puk: you have to improvise.I have a Yugo "Sarac"buffer and G...

Re: SA-42 safety ops pix? attn:reb62
Thanks Reb62,
I'm working on a Timmney trigger pack for the fcg and it seems to need the trigger bar lifted to put it in a "safe' mode.Boy anyone who has made his own fcg has really done something! I'm still at the paper stage, quite a task.
Thanks again,cz2

SA-42 safety ops pix? attn:reb62
Hi Reb62,
Any chance for a couple of shots of the Wiselite safety,on/off from the top of gripstick? I am confused on the actual ops of the safety with the ar fcg in a 42 grip.Is the trigger bar extension lifted up or pressed down when the safety is on?
Thanks,cz2
