I think 1915 dated items are hard anywhere!
Very nice! For some reason I love the early and late stuff...

Re: Need drain valve assy and top straps
The original top straps are machined castings. Most repros are all machined. Other than that, its just knowing what an original looks like. For example the spring loaded pins that hole the securing screws up, that feature is almost always skipped. Being able to easily see the pins that hold the scre...

Re: ZF12 Internal Prism/lens cleaning..
Very nice! Lets see some pictures of the whole collection! I have been tempted to open some of mine up but I have not done it yet... I have some I would like to restore eventually. I have an early style ZF12 that needs some real work. I forget the number but its real early. Off topic... does anyone ...

Would love to see it! price is all in condition. If it is a registered Dewatt, then why not make it a live gun? -Seth That was one thought, but if the weld in the chamber somehow boogered it up, I'm not sure I'd want to spend the dough to get it to that point. And I'm saving up for another expensiv...

DWM Commercial Proof Markings. Maxim Model 1909
Guys, a while back I traded a board member for a Maxim tripod style traverse lug, meaning it has no stud on the bottom jaw holding it to the traverse bridge. This one is made to swing off when the gun is removed and is semi permanently pined to the rear lugs of the Maxim. Anyway, we could not figure...

Not me...
Yeah its nice and complete but to rich for my blood. I am not what one would consider a big accessory collector. I have a Reichswehr version and I was happy to have like $100 in it. However maybe for the advanced accessory collector its worth it.

Re: MG08 drain filler help
The one on the left looks like a MG08/15 plus missing the two retaining arms. The one on the right looks like a Chinese T24 plug thats pretty much the same as the MG08 Plug.

He is talking about the internal piece of the MG08 booster that fits around the barrel. The booster Pistol/cylinder type part. Its the moving part of the booster.

Re: Never noticed German MG barrels are dated! Did you?
Here are a few of my barrels. Note the 14,17,18 and 36 standing for 1914, 1917, 1918 and 1936, the years the barrels were made. I did have a Turk made barrel. It has a crescent shape on it and no imperial markings.

Re: Never noticed German MG barrels are dated! Did you?
Good call Matt, did the Turks manufacture barrels for the 08's, (like the over-priced ones IMA sales)? Or are those well used German barrels by the Turks. If its not imperial, reichswehr or nazi marked... I think I have a barrel that is not German. Maybe Czech or Turk... I have a good idea that som...

Never noticed German MG barrels are dated! Did you?
I was looking over a new BSW made MG08 barrel I got in yesterday. I noticed that it had a 36 next to it. Looking over all my other barrels, I noticed that they were also stamped with the 19XX date on there. I have a lot of 17 and 18 marked barrels and one cut 14 marked barrel. I just never took note...

$665 ZF12 sold on ebay. ZF12 Prices!
Has anyone ever noticed how the prices on ZF12s are all over the place? This is the second most expensive I have ever seen. The first was one that came with a MG34 rail adaptor and was in like 95% condition. As you can see this one is not nearly that nice but is early and unit marked. Anyone here ge...
