so the new blanks don't have the power to reset the hammer? Its following the bolt into battery?
Tighter/smaller booster cone or weaker recoil spring sounds reasonable.

when the tax stamp law was originally passed, the US government REFUSED to sell any tax stamps and it wasn't until the Supreme Court ruled that the US government HAD to sell the tax stamp that the American People got the opportunity to buy the regulated firearms. Can you provide a reference to this...

the odd color scheme (now removed) was a response to a bad "upgrade" that left us with only a gray background that was tough to read black print on.

Re: receiver dimensions for welding

The 42 has a mix of english and metric measurements.
The reciever OAL is generally between 37 9/16" to 37 5/8".
But there is variations with all sheetmetal stampings.

Re: A thought on anti OOB bolt mods

No, solder the nut on the pin so that the nut hits the striker unless the rollers are locked into the barrel extention.
just make sure your pins long enough to hit the primer when the bolt is locked.

Re: sights question

to stop OOBs you need a collar on the forward portion of the firing pin that touches the striker keeping the pin from reaching the primer until the rollers have engaged the cam.
There are multiple posts describing this on the site.
