They are right Tomcat. The book I was referring to also shows 4 or 5 shades of Dunkelgelb. Looks like that company is up on their colors...Nice to know.

I truely wouldn't worry about the primer shades. I have seen many shades peering through paint scratches on original painted equipment. They range from bright red to the typical primer red. Don't get caught up in primers. As for colors. There is an excellent reference for original colors called "Weh...

The below link is a before and after from an old post. If I remember correctly, I Used acetone and an M16 cleaning brush. I kept brushing in circles. The green came off pretty easy and the tan laughed at the acetone.

Just to add to the advertisement. The Norwegian paint can be removed. I took the entirety of it off of my EM34. It reveiled a nice solid undercoat of Dunkelgelb.

Don't get me wrong, I have seen the apfelgrun on quite a few items in the past, I think my flak tool box is one example (See IMA pic below). I just think the color does'nt jive on the ammo cans and drum carriers/drums.

I'd have to agree with Dennis here. I was under the impression that he was just listing a hodge podge of 34 and 42 stuff from different nations. But, then he clearly labels certain items as postwar when quite a few of the other stuff is too. None the less, the site is a great reference to 34 and 42 ...

That ammo can sure is pretty...very nice. The greens are so close. It could also be Grün 6007 or Olivegrün 6003. As for the Apfelgrün...ehhhhh..not sure what to say. I'd like to see other items in this color that are proven WWII German. IMA had a bunch of drum holders and drums in two greens. The...

They were not from AA, and don't look newly manufactured. These came from IMA. They look like the ones on their website.

1944's paint is thin thin thin. While the color is spot on, it doesn't hold up for crap. Three coats on my lafette and if you touch it, it scrathes thru the paint to the primer. The primer is rock solid :) You'll find this problem frequently with canned paint. Everytime I found someone to can my pa...

I can understand Blanksguy's need to see the barrel shroud and topcover markings. The most desirable of kits do not have restamped or ground and remarked parts.
