i have examples of both the mg42 & mg3 recuperator, the mg3 recuperator requires the mg3 buffer to clear the extra "tail" . i don't have the mg3 buffer yet or know of anyone who does have one to see what the extra cuts look like in the locking lugs. i believe that the mg42/mg1 buffer could be modifi...

i had thought the .308 recuperator could not be used on/with 8mm. went looking for pics of the 2 types to show everyone and found this on RTGs site. http://www.robertrtg.com/mg3recuperator.html so I'm now thinking i had it back-wards and wondering how well these tired 8mm springs are going to hold u...

you do realize they aren't used at all in a semi-42.
if you are running a full-auto and want the WWII long tail model post a WTB , you should be able to find someone who is just going to throw it out anyway.

don't worry about that i have access to 2 different cabinets. i think they both are currently using sand for a medium , but that shouldn't be a problem.

it was a good time tom , the hours flew by . i was amazed at how little we actually accomplished in all that time . i thought your receiver looked really good by the time we had to leave . considering it was created from two parts made from different WWII guns from the 1940's and two parts made in 2...

maybe they figured if you stumbled up close enough to the business end of a hidden 1200RPM machinegun that you can see the small amount of red under the gun that your pretty much F@CKED anyway. but having it red would keep there own troops mindful about putting there hands in that area when the gun ...

you must have gotten a left-handed bipod for a right-handed gun. that sucks . only thing you could do is use the rear attachment point and fold the legs forward or pull the cotter pin and turn the legs around

If you have two sets of WWII rails you are one lucky SOB . but i doubt they are or you'd see the anwser to your question. OK let me try to get this right. rails have a "flare" at the end nearest the buttstock and a "tab" 1 1/2" +/- from the forward end. the tab locks into the receiver to aid in alig...

thats a current issue mg3 armours kit. the plunger assembly for the extractor is round not square like every old kit imported into this country , also the spring for the plunger is a slightly larger diameter making it useless for us. the only really good parts to have are the extractors. IMHO - wast...

FYI - replacement trunnions come with a bolt not a rivet.
don't know if anyone cares, but i wouldn't fixate on the correct rivet too much if you can just drop a bolt through and go.

Could it be the post war belts are for 7.62 are different than the WWII 8mm belts? Steve WWII belts are probably worn in more and don't hold the shell as hard. i think without referencing Folk Mvrang the gerry's had 5 different belt types during the war. seems to me that by post war they'd a got it...

i thought i heard (INTERNET rumor time) that IO was changing their demill on their kits , keeping a center section for themselves.
i hope not, i was thinking of getting a second kit if the price/quality ratio improved when factored by the spare cash exponent.

the front nut goes into the recuperator with the long side facing towards the buttstock. you insert the last spring in the end of the recuperator rod, then the plunger follows the spring, then the nut goes into the recess cut into the side of the plunger , when this is done the short side of the nut...
