I was in a weaponeer group buy and was satisfied with the one they sent me. I had pictures until my HDD committed suicide. I think that they are still on the weaponeer under past group buys. I want to say that I bought the MG34 back around Nov 05, here are some links: http://www.weaponeer.net/forum/...

The basic mount itself is the same. The difference lies in the cradle for the MG34. The original MG34 Lafette had a yoke that could be rotated/turned, allowing the gunner to replace barrels. If you want to still use a MG42 Lafette for a MG34, it can be done with some (homemade) attchments. It will n...

M1 Tanker, Thank you for the data on this rifle. Almost as if you were looking at it yourself! The buttplate is pitted somwhat, and I can't readily find a Wa on it. Now all I need is a decent sling and a bayonet to go along with the rifle. I will have to pick up Backbone of the Wehrmacht so I can le...

Daskraut, can you please check the stats? I do want my items to be correct for the period, my receiver shows ce 43. At the gunshow before I went to my truck to put it away I was approached by a few guys that wanted it, willing to pay more than what I had paid for it. That's why I asked if it was wor...

I have a ce 1943, it is all matching numbers except for the bolt. The stock is laminated and light in color "blond" are they worth more in a lighter color stock?

Pirate, I agree some of the prices were high, but grew overnight in some booths. My cell phone coverage was OK there. I think that I might put a sign on my cap/back pack with my handle for easy ID. It was nice to meet a few of the guys on the baord. I know it's hard to set a meeting time, because th...

I saw that one too, really nice. The rear half is actually milled, not stamped sheet metal. The front half looks like original stamped sheet metal.

Sledge 303, I heard that Saturday was a huge turnout from what Tor (OOW) told me, ticket sales were pretty good, and with that business for all of them. I was fortunante to meet some great folks, Gary from Coles Distributing, Dolf, Folke Myvrang and our own John Baum! Also got to talk to some of the...

I'll be there, burning up some leave that I should keep. It was nice to visit and meet some of you here and on the 1919 board. I'll be gimping along, hoping my back doesn't give out on me. It will be about a 10 hour drive for me, I can't see flying there and renting a car. - I just might buy somethi...

I've ordered several of his manuals. He charged too much on the Kar 98k manual, the cover price shows 25 pfennig, and I paid way over that LOL  John has done the hard part, getting these manuals together and translating them. Since mein Deutsch ist schelcht I didn't mind ordering them from ...

That price quoted is good, I paid about what you are paying for mine not including shipping. The MG-51 is a Swiss version of the MG 42.

I have one like that with a brass hopper. It will load 7.62x51 on WWII belts reliably. The hopper on mine will accomidate 8mm. It will feed into the hopper, get aligned, pushed into the belt, , but there is no clearance for the tip of the bullet it gets hung up when you try and load another round. I...

For your "Gee Whiz" file:
ON some starter tabs if you look carefully you will see SA that will indicate it is Finnish Gov't property. Maxim ammo and water chests sometimes have this spray painted on.

Daskraut, In a year or two I will be shipped the that Gulag state. Your set up looks nice, maybe you should paint it all orange so it isn't so scary. I'm surprised that the color "black" wasn't part of the CA AWB along with other evil features. It's not the the firearm, but the illegal user that des...

Just a thought, but would would happen if you bought fresh park finish, but did not use the steel wool/atomized iron to initially condition the park? I think that it still would darken the metal, and not provide a "clear" phosphate finish because the receiver itself would be the initial catalyst. Ju...

I have received some MG manuals form John MG-15, MG-34, MG-42, Lafette Tripod manual, Scope Manual and Kar 98k and it as everyone has said, they are a wealth of information. If you read through his product listing, he does say that some of the material overlaps, but repetition can be a good thing to...
