I just would like an update too...but I'm not concerned. I think I sent him money around the 3rd of July, so it hasn't been that long ago. These things take time. We just need a progress report is all.

Re: 8 mm ammo

Beware of the Yugo ammo. They used corrosive primers. After shooting you have to clean your barrel with water. I had some trouble when i used them in my Persian rifle. Landsknecht All combloc ammo is corrosive :) Its fine, you just have to clean your weapon. Biggest problem with 1950's Yugo is the ...

Re: The SA42 and 922R regulations????

Salt, I'm confused now.\

The dates on your link are Jan06, while mine are Feb06.

I was under the impression that they are Rifles now, subject to 922r...correct?

Re: The SA42 and 922R regulations????

Scott, this was a hot topic and there is/was a sticky on it. BRP's SA42 is a FIREARM, not subject to 922r. When Orin wrote Tech Branch, they too ruled it a FIREARM not subject to 922r, but then a few weeks later changed their minds. They now said it was a RIFLE because it accepted a shoulder stock. ...

Re: Anybody pop rivet their rails?

Why pop rivet? I don't think it would hold up and its easy to rivet the rails in. Matter of fact, I think Pirate even offers the buck, so all you need to $10 worth of rivets, a simple rivet tool and a hammer. I wouldn't trust pop rivets on a firearm man.

Re: Postwar Lafette 42s

I have one that I purchased from Mg34.com. I have disassembled it completely to bead blast and repaint it.

I was unable to find 1 single waffenamt or German marking even on the smallest part. Either they are experts at erasing the origin or they are Yugo made. It has a lot of BK stamps.

Re: ammo

The 50's Yugo I have (3 cases) has very deep primers and will not fire relibility in my SA42 or in any of my K98's. I think if you made up an extra long firing pin for your SA42 and Yugo 50's 8mm, then it may run alright.
