Re: ? RATCHET PLATE FOR CHARGING HANDLE RIGHT SIGHT

Its spot welded on. exact location determined by charging handle, needs to have the forward under hook part in the right spot to lever the bolt from the camming piece. elevation set by where the handle wants to slide best without being too loose.

Re: Newbie - Questions on MG42 ownership

nose of the buffer hits the back of the bolt, causing the the ejection like you described.
Is the nose of your buffer the longer than normal version ? you need a longer receiver and the stretched buffer nose to use an uncut recoil spring.

Re: Issues with getting a M53 to run right

Its tough to say without more info but look at replacing the extractor and spring. I've seen guns that ran 8mm but didn't like 7.62 change their minds with a new extractor combo to hold the 7.62 tighter. $.02

Flem and Will are forum members.
They learned how to build 42s right here by asking questions and reading. Most can learn the same way.

A video might have been a good seller back when kits were more common.

Re: Questions Before Beginning

I wouldn't stress about the sear. your kit will come with FA parts thats no big deal. you will most likely be sending your gripstick out to be rebuilt into semiauto. when it gets rebuilt tell the guy to keep/trash the FA sear if you feel better about not having it in your possession. The FA sear wil...
