If it rains again, this will be the last year I bring any gear there. Last year it rained so hard, our tents collapsed and a good portion of the gear was in the rain half the night...grrr. Remember to prep your optics....it's a good way to spy on the hotties. AK47Dennis and I will be there.

Does the firing pin dent the rounds primer? The only way the pistol would not fire with a chambered round is:

1. Hard primers
2. BRoken firing pin
3. bad ammo
4. no firing pin
5. Slide is not closing all the way.
6. Extractor stuck and not snapping onto the round.

You can get the bolts to fit perfectly by rotating that lever to the side, instead of sticking straight back.

It's hard to tell from the pic supplied. Are there any markings on the light socket end? The parts look correct from here. The cable is odd, but it could have been replaced. The cables are just old two wire cables.

I've seen the M48's sold at shows and through dealers, that are just as nice as Mitchell's...but, if you like spending more for something you can get for less, then Mitchell's it is. You're right about the traverse limitation. Though, my mount only restricts travel by 5 mils on one side and 10 mils on the other....

It definatly falls within a grey area of shameful advertising. They did describe it as it was, but in turn, they left out enough information for the item to be misconstrued as original.
