Omega Broomhandles
I was looking at Omega's C96 broomhandle add on their site and wondered what people think of them. They say they are refinished in Germany. What's the real story on these - are they reconditioned Chinese or maybe fakes or are they good? I no little about broomhandles except that I always thought the...

Re: TNW's light trigger pull conversion kit
I am having a hard time figuring out why everybody's resulting trigger pulls are so different. It's like the trigger pull is being influenced by some other critical factor that the kit doesn't address. Based on the conversation, this issues wide open. Regards, mgfun

The look nice. They must have taken quite a bit of effort. I didn't notice a price for these. Do you have any idea?

Re: How to build a dummy without damaging reciever??
I think you must incorporate all of your semi mods to the parts before you touch that receiver with a welder.connecting any of the sections via a strip of metal and welds, no matter how poorly done, may be a problem without the semi mods, 1st. Aside from holding it together with a couple of tie wrap...

Re: Modifying an MG15 saddledrum to MG34
Well, it is a bit of a chicken and egg problem. There seem to be plenty of mg15 saddledrums around. Good. They aren't usable for much (unless your an mg15 guy). There is no sense producing a topcover unless there is a drum to use. Sounds like a group buy on combined topcovers and converted mg15 sadd...

Modifying an MG15 saddledrum to MG34
I'm sure this has been thought of already and it's too tough, but I feel the need to ask. An MG34 saddledrum has adjustable springs and an MG15 saddledrum does not. I'm sure the original mechanism is wonderful and allowed for infinite, easy adjustments. Maybe it would cost a fortune to get that. But...

mg47 success
Congratulations. I can't imagine the time and effort this took. It looks very cool. How much does it weigh? You must have tons of miscellaneous parts laying around to try out. Did you try to use something from every gun out there. I think you missed the Shwartzlose and the Lewis gun. Maybe you can m...

reweld filler results
Pirate, You mentioned that "I used E301, it is a common mild stainless alloy" as filler material in your reweld. I wonder if that would blue very well? Do you have to parkerize or use Duracoat after that? These guns sure were pretty when blue. Regards, mgfun

34 reweld filler
Pirate,
Thanks for the insight.
You mentioned an alloy rod (filler). Could you be more specific about the filler material that you would recommend?

MG34 Receiver Rewelding Jig
A number of threads mention creating close tolerance jigs from steel and using overlapping sections to create the reweld. It has been mentioned that little problem was anticipated in having weld attachmments to the jig. I'm not very experienced at welding and so I don't understand. I would have expe...

longhorn 109,
Thanks a lot. I probably wouldn't have found it. Didn't think it was that long ago.
What's worse than you losing this thread is I had a hard time finding it and it is my thread.

Thread location
There was a very funny movie link in a thread on the site, maybe 3 months ago. I sure can't find it now, but I would like to. It was of the German WWII officers talking on the Eastern Front about skulls and being 'the baddies'. Does anyone recall where that was at? Regards, mgfun

MG34 Receiver Material
I have read in various threads that the original MG34 receiver is made of 'ductile iron'. I am not really familiar with this term. I understand the composition of 4030/4040 and 1018. 'Ductile iron' sounds a lot like iron with carbon added, which is low carbon steel. I'm no expert and so I am wonderi...

How much does it weigh? Have you thought about the strength of that gas tube as a hand hold? Are you planning to beef it up and create a new handguard? I know it's just an experiment and you might not be thinking about these details yet. The front end is starting to mimic the RPD a little. Did you t...

34 jig
I was told these were going to bebrass and so, with care, can be used for welding without copper shims. I am interestedi in knowing if the jig will be built to the contour of the bolt slot (with the proper edge radius) to fully match the inner boltway contour of the receiver. Regards, mgfun

M53 special price
For those interested in multiple M53 kits, Weaponeer has a buy going on of 3 for $525. That's noticably less than Sarco, if you have a use for all of those parts.
