mg-42 cam section dimensions/hole locations.

I am trying to determine the distance from the rear of the rectangular hole, where the cam piece fits in, to the verticle edge of the "D" cut for the rail locator.Have a weld to make between these two points and this dimension seems critical as it must locate the end of the rail to the cam part.Both...

Quest for ultimate sa42 grip stick.

Hi, Any one have, or examined the BRP converted mg42/SA grip stick?Seems a new offering? I like the use of sheetmetal grip, safety bar feature, and concealed front mount.Wonder if the grip comes finished or "in the rough" like the photo on BRP web page.Where is the pictured f/a blocker bar welded in? ...

Recoil spring thoughts

Morning all, So I've been thinking about recoil springs for s/a 42's. :WTF: ya I realize idle minds etc. RTG lists a "675 g. MG-3 bolt to slow rate of fire and I've seen pictures of a Swiss bolt that must weigh a couple pounds. These bolts must take a stronger operating spring to cycle ,correct? If t...

Re: Yugo 53 or what ?

Waffendude,
Most of the Yugo-53 parts I have carry part numbers like this, S111-xxxxx or S113-xxxxx, maybe this will help to I.D. the gun.
Any one know if the Yugo's ever made m-53's for export? Some times exported guns were sent out unmarked, ie "sanitized".

Re: WANTED: Mauser WWII MG-42 Bolt Catch

Pulled the German bolt apart and the bolt catch looks just like TC's,then pulled Yugo bolt apart same style. No codes or waff's on them so must be post war replacements.
Pix attached.

Re: WANTED: Mauser WWII MG-42 Bolt Catch

DA, as a" newbe" to the 42 aspect, the bolt catch you want is not used in a s/a 42 correct? Hell I think my german bolt has one in it and if it has to go for the s/a conversion?,I need some stuff for my s/a project.Maybe another trade??? Not to undercut the other guys however,I'm just a bit part play...
