As nobody seemed to answer you question here I will go out on a limb and say I prefer ER70S.
I don't think you would be disappointed if you tried using it Abominog. Maybe someone else here will comment.

Bill, If you can post names of the fellows who "borrowed" these items maybe we can help you locate them.
Nothing worse than trying to help someone out only to have them run off with your items.

Re: Early MG34 butt stock
Harry, I just went over my limit on what I was willing to spend, I put in a bid for $420 for the one on Gun Broker that had the metal tips. I told you I was too cheap as it still didn't meet the reserve.
If the Creek wasn't just around the corner I may have bid higher.

Harry, I have seen them sell for between $400-$500, sometimes they ask more but they don't seem to sell. I too am looking for one but I'm cheap and only want to spend $300-$350.

I have sold two in the last three months, unfortunately I have no more for sale.
There was one at the Knob Creek show that was around $550. Both of mine brought over $800 so reasonable is in the eye of the beholder.

I would say $500-$800 depending on their experience and if they are licensed properly.
Anyone can do it cheaper if they are not licensed so be cautious.

Re: What did you buy at the Fall 2012 Creek??
I didn't see this post until today but I am a regular to the creek show. Wed through Sun. Bought a Vickers tripod, a M07/12 partial kit, Vickers accessories, WWII British 303 ammo in the wooden boxes, books from Mr. Baum & Dolf, and a slew of small items. All in all it was a good show. Hope to run in...

Re: how hard would this be to reweld... saw cut
I use an aluminum jig with copper backers. As someone previously said, bevel the edges to get maximum penetration. Start at the corners and build up the edges until they meet, jump around from one side to the other never staying in one spot too long. Don't be in a rush! Double check all measurements...

Re: how hard would this be to reweld... saw cut
This all depends on your skill level and your welder. I've used a Miller SyncrowaveTIG welder and filled larger gaps than that before. Use a good jig and take your time. it can be done.

Over the weekend the business where I work was robbed. The shed where I kept my parts kits was also broken into. They made off with two rare complete Bren parts kits, a complete ZB-37 parts kit including a good barrel and the correct ww2 barrel shroud, a Breda parts kit in a transit case with two c...

IMBLITZVT, I saw you bidding on that gurtfuller, I thought it was a great find. As for that MGK Luger.... boy would I love to have that in my collection! It is so nice when you see someone with a passion for collecting and they don't buy just anything, but they stick to a common theme. Your collecti...
