Cosmoline removal

Good question, the 1903 rifles that have been coming from the CMP (civillian marksmanship program) have been drenched with cosmoline. Lots of recommendations on the Parallax forum and gunboards.com for cosmo removal. Three suggesions based upon their experiences w/ 1903's soaked in cosmo: 1) Use pur...

Tom R- Alaska is hit and miss, if you go to the gun shows you can strike gold by talking to everyone and networking, but the tables are usually pretty weak...

MG34 kits

Tom, do you know if the kits from Allegheny are decent or not? I have read the boards about their receivers on their old kits. Of course the kits they have now have no receiver included, but was wondering what the condition of all o fthe other parts were like....i.e. matching, lineouts, finish, etc....

One more newbie question...last one for now...dummy guns...

Suppose I get a receiver welded up, but don't have any lucky or the technical ability (i.e. direct help) to get it going.....what would I need to do to build at least a BATF legal dummy gun out of it? Chris.

So, I'm sure as time goes on, and new receivers come out, the building fraternity will grow...but I'm just wondering how many of you have actually completed semi kits out of MG-34's and have them running smoothly? What works well for a fcg? THanks, Chris....
