Re: 1909 Mauser

Hi Bill:

My "Small Arms of the World" shows the Kar. 98a with the turned down bolt. Sarco http://www.sarcoinc.com/mauser.html#4 is listing both the bolt and the lower band, which has the front sling loop.

Rhody: I just got a note from the DID Importer that they are coming out with a new SS machine gunner "Julius Hanke" figure. He (it?) includes an all-metal MG42 and Lafette, it doesn't say if the Lafette is metal or plastic, but it folds just like the big one. The figure is supposed to be out by the ...

I gave the "people problem, not gun problem" answer to a reporter when Bush I was going to ban "assault" weapons...they even ran it ;)

Northridge had some. I needed to replace the latch on my first kit. They probably have the spring too, but mine was still stuck in the hole by cosmo :)

Here's the photo they sent me to make sure that is what I needed.

Here's a photo of the piece of "Ace Hardware" angle that I'm using. Just clamp it to the outside of the receiver. The cut-outs were done with a hacksaw, file and Dremel, to clear the few "bumps" on the bottom and left side of the receiver. The left end in the picture is the front. The round hole is ...

Nice tip about the alignment, Mike! I can't quite tell from the pic, did you clamp the reference aluminum angle piece to the outside or inside of the receiver pieces? Thanks Village: The angle is clamped to the outside of the receiver parts. One thing you need to check is that the bottom and left s...

Sarin: Nominally....the lower left corner of the receiver is straight in both vertical and horizontal planes from the rear to just ahead of the rivet that holds the barrel stop into the shroud. Here is a photo of the way I've been lining up my receiver getting ready for my weld. I cut some notches a...

Since that is the loader for the MG3, its use is covered in the MG3 manual. There are 6 pages of info on this belt loader in the MG3 manaul. The part you're asking about is the belt limiter. The down (to the right) position is correct for unbelting ammo, the up position is correct for belting ammo,...

Gurtfuller adjustments?

The question is....are there any :?: Just about the only moveable part is the ear that holds the belt tight against the force of the cartridge "pusher". I looked through Jbaum's lists, and he doesn't have a manual for these machines  Here's a couple photos of what I'm talking about. One with ...

Here's a shot of one of RTG's used MG3 belt loaders. I got it this morning, and...after I figured out how it worked...ran a handful of .308's into one of my belts. It works just fine. I found out that if you run the hopper down to the last cartridge, the last one wants to hop up over the feed ears, ...

Fire Control Group

While I was otherwise unoccupied sitting on a train yesterday, I was watching a couple of my new AGI videos. The relevent one is the HK vid. The G3 trigger/disconnector works just like the FN-FAL, both of which can be got with US parts. The really interesting part was that Bob showed that the G3 fir...
