Yeah I can imagine, they use the same "proof" for Holocaust. What I was saying is that barrel looks like its been trough some rough time.DARIVS ARCHITECTVS wrote:Note: The MG-42 was never at Stalingrad, despite the fuzzy, indistinct photos that the web history experts offer as "proof".

Good German WW2 8mm barrel "dfb" for mg42
WW2 German 8mm barrel for MG42, looks like it has seen Stalingrad front lines and some snow. Barrel has strong rifling and it shines but it has rust spots in it. Barrel outside surface has seen some rust and minor pitting, has a marking "MW (dfb 9 in the shield) dfb" then two eagles with "Waa44" mar...

well tell people that ammo is not free and it is not given free trough some obama government stimulus. You have to buy ammo with your own hard earned money. So no shooting for comradesRupert wrote: Only problem I now have is when I take out to shoot it people come up and want to shoot all my ammo. Rupert

There is plenty of information here on ths board. Using romanian 70s ammo you should not have problems. If you do have problems with the rifle not cycling properly with romanian ammo then take it back for warranty

Re: WLA M53 Shooting Low
WLA M53 is built on new receiver that may be out of specification. Only rear sight is adjustable for elevation and if it shooting too low on lowest setting 200m, then receiver is not properly built.

12th, You feel you need to get the hammer string was needed? I have read and BRP has a section about the pin punching through the primer, etc with heavier springs...but didn't know if I would need that harder spring, or just use a different sized booster cone? Are you still using the cone that came...

I had bad luck with them. When they advertise something "bright and shinny", there is a high probability that you would get dark bore barrel.

sportsmansguide has WW2 tripods for $500 now
Can you guys believe this scam? Sportsmansguide has bundeswehr MG3 tripods that are made in 70s and 80s and lists them as: Abandoned treasure! These "veteran" MG42 Ground Tripods were resting in a shabby old barn for who knows how long, just waiting to join your collection. Of course, the MG42 (shor...

OK. I've been busy this summer so far. Not been able to do much shooting. Rocco I took some off the tail of my hammer, and still no change. Was wondering if you could post a picture of your hammer mod to compare to mine. This is driving me nuts having a gun that doesn't run right. Anybody else have...

shocking!!! $2800 for that abortion? That receiver is built out of specification, the barrel bushing is too much in. That needs to go back and the bushing needs to be cut out from the weld and then rewelded at proper specification if it is posible.

When I talked to BRP guy about his products, he told me that he stopped selling fully maid M53SA because people did not know how to use it. Semi auto MG42 requires IQ level higher than 100 at least to properly know how to operate it.

I am happy that I built mine from German parts kit, it all works fine. What was that german WW2 slogan "Jedem das Seine",? "everyone gets what he deserves".
