Thanks, makes sense, I noticed that on my set regardless of which ever piece goes on the left, the thinner rail will be down.

I've got a set of new rails. They appear identical except one has the number one painted on the inside and the other has the number 11. Can either one go on either side? It appears that if they are a correct set this would be the case. I don't have an old set of rails to compare thus the question. T...

Drooling, No problem at all. I really didnt specify that I was looking for a WW2 in that post. I plan on making a M53 too and I can eventually use it for that. BUt I am looking for a usable WW2 German sling too...........any ideas RR Racoon, I found a source for repro Afrika Korps canvas and leathe...

AHA! Thanks so much, that makes sense now. I thought it was a "mount", like, a "mount" :) That would be *GREAT* for a toolbench holder when doing gunsmithing work on it. I could put that in the garage, perhaps drill holes in the bench so I can remove it easily and presto I have a fully-clamped gun ...
