Okay guys it's been a while. What do I need to finish my 42

Post by aftershock2222 »

Excuse me guys but it's been many moons since I last posted. I'd been out of the loop due to work. Now that I have retired I want to finish my semi MG42. My receiver is all jigged up and ready to weld. That's not the problem. Over the years, I had to sell off my semi bolts and semi trigger groups. What do you guys recommend I buy that will be pretty much be drop in and shoot? Also has anybody divised a better way to rivet those damn receiver rails? Thanks.

Setting the rails is still about the same, make the jack bolts and set. I use the brp

semi auto parts in mine and they are a basic drop in and they work good for me.
Almost forgot to add, Good Luck on the final rebuild steps. And welcome to retirement.....

Thank you, 42Rocker. I was looking at the semi grips on BRP and RTG. They look like the same ones. Are they?

I do believe that rtg gets his mg42 stuff from brp. Semi auto stuff that is.

Enjoy Life

oakrodent's build welds the rails in and then tacks the rivet heads on.

Robert sells a subset of BRP's offerings.

For instance he has the complete trigger pack, but BRP has/had the unassembled kit for less.

Just took a look and BRP is outta the trigger packs while RTG shows them in stock. BRP is outta the assembled bolts but does have conversion kits.

Part kits are running out all over. This would be a good time to obtain any parts you need to complete your build and stockpile any spares.
