IMA Belt Loader

Post by wooferocau »

I have been chasing an MG08 belt loader for a long time......having no luck i decided to purchase one of the IMA loaders before they run out of stock, as they only have a couple of units left!.
I understand these were modified by the Turks for the metal belts.

Could anybody here that has one of the IMA loaders tell my what exactly is modified and what is missing.

My aim is to convert the loader back to its original configuration. I am a tool/maker/machinist with a very well equipped machine shop , my aim is to re manufacture the missing components as i doubt obtaining them is possible.

Thanks for any help..

There's quite a lot of the internal parts missing, and they've put a piece on the front of the drum to hold the belt, and filed off one set of the pins on the drum. Basically, they took out the pocket opening part of the drum loader, put a front end on the drum to hold the metal belt in place, and filed off the pins that would interfere with the metal belt. I'll see if I can figure out how to do pictures. It could be done, the hard part will be the internal parts.
