MG13 IMA dummy.
I have found a spectacular MG13 parts kit I want.
I want to sell my MG13 dummy to help pay for the parts kit - mine is one of the IMA dummies, and has a false receiver on it - the bolt/charger moves backwards and forwards under spring pressure, but the receiver is welded scrap metal.
I cannot find any dummies for sale on-line and the parts kit is about $2800.
I was thinking of $1500 for the dummy - what are peoples thoughts on this?
You guys have the real thing - and I am sure at one stage these dummies were being sold for several hundred dollars, but these are different times - I am interested in an opinion as to whether that's too expensive?
Pit.

Re: MG13 IMA dummy.
No, I did not buy the MG13 kit - two reasons.
1. There was no interest in my MG13 dummy, that I half heartedly tried to sell to help motivate me buying the kit.
2. I got sidetracked by a Russian M1910 Maxim semi and a T-Gewehr that I had to have - the T-Gewehr seller got upset when I offered less than he wanted for the T-Gewehr, refusing to counter. So, I got the Maxim M1910.
My friend still has the MG13 kit for sale and it is beautiful, but, that money buys a lot right now.
My next project is my ZB26 kit that needs to be built, and that is not cheap either.
If the MG13 dummy sells, I'll get back into that mode, but it is on hold for now.
Sorry about the long answer, but for me, not being a millionaire, I fund my projects by selling and dealing, lol .

Jagnabbit - the MG13 parts kit has come down in price - no one here wants to buy this dummy do they, lol?
WHY do the good things always turn up for sale when I am between jobs?

Re: MG13 IMA dummy.
I have this one -
PM me your email if you are genuinely interested, I will photograph whatever you want and email the pics to you.
(This is the IMA dummy so the front receiver is basically a piece of tube steel with the rear receiver is two flats of steel, with the mag housing welded to it - the top cover is original and the lower pistol grip area is original.)
Posting and hosting takes too much time - I am slammed tight now with work - but I do want to sell this to get the kit.
Also have an M53 dummy made up to look like an MG42 - not pictured.

Re: MG13 IMA dummy.
I have decided to keep the dummy.
Re: MG13 IMA dummy.
I just posted a mg13 cut receiver to gunbroker. I have more than one available as well.

No extra shrouds. Recently picked up a complete kit and the guy had 3 extra cut receivers. Kit is being built into a semi and I thought Id sell off the other receivers to offset the kit & build cost.

Re: MG13 IMA dummy.
Great thank you Fishpaw - on it it's way in.
I ripped apart this dummy - everything is there, with your receiver we're well on the way to a nice build.
But...
Someone removed the hammer to make welding it up easier, all other parts are there - why would someone do that?
If anyone has a lead on an MG13 hammer, it will save me trying to fabricate one, which would likely be a pain.
Thanks to MG42 forum for helping

Beautiful parts!
Thank you, very much, Fishpaw!
This one will be going to Mid-West Metal Creations -
Just need to find the hammer that was so carefully removed, lol.
