Firing Pin questions

Post by 981340 »

I picked up a couple of "firing pin" springs. One is about 3/8" longer than the firing pin, so I assume it IS a firing pin spring. The other is about 3/4" longer than that , so what could it be? Piston rod spring (proper name?)? One other question. My searching indicates an original firing pin spring may not be strong enough to fire surplus ammo. I have a bit of Russian remanufactured German ammo (2017, non corrosive primers). Has anyone used this ammo? Is it worth trying an original firing pin spring with this ammo?
TIA.

OK.
I'll have to search to find out how to post pictures.

I'm afraid my computer skills are sadly lacking.
I can't figure out how to post pictures.
