finally finished

Post by jstrohm »

i finally figured out what needed to be done to fix the trigger bar area to allow the new tnw to fit and function properly. the depth of the slot is .456 thou. i had to make a plate out of some flat stock and fit it to the chanel in the bottom of thereceiver. you need to make sure it is thin enough on the top side to allow the bolt to pass over it. then i tigged it in place turned it over and milled the bottom side till i got a clearence that allowed the gate to trip the sear on the bolt. i also had to put a notch in the bottom of the bolt to allow the gate to trip the sear. all i need to do now is refinish the receiver.

What type of welding rod did you use? ER308 is stainless and I want to blue my receiver, not paint it.

looks like you forgot to fill in the sear channel to prevent a fa bolt from being inserted.
