Ammo belt storage

Post by bbrown »

How did the Germans store their empty MG34/MG42 ammo belts? How do you? I keep mine oiled, rolled up and in several plastic bags, but there has to be a better way, if only because the bags eventually tear.

Roll them, oil them, and put them in an empty US ammo can. US ammo cans are sealed so you don't have a moisture/evaporation problem.

Yep, as above, for long term storage just oil and lay them in a can like you would with rounds in, or just chuck 'em in. You could also toss in a few sachets of Silica gel just to be sure.
