Hi folks:
Here's a photo of the MG3 tripod I just got from RTG. I stuck the front of one of my Yugos in the front mount just for fun
Over all, the mount is in very good shape, the light box even had a couple working batteries in it All the parts work according to jbaum's manual and the finish is in pretty good shape for a used piece. Now....I've got to look through jbaum's list and see if one of his manuals tells me how to use the optical sight to aim the gun

MGMike,
I am out of town and can't look at mine, but if my poor memory serves me correct, the hex wrench is for adjusting the Optics Mount on the Tripod. If you look, there are several socket head cap screws that allow some adjustment to the scope mount. One of John's books has the information on how to adjust this, but I don't rmember which one. 1 or 2 of the cap screws must be loosened before you can adjust the Mount, and then they must be tightened back to hold position. Axctual adjustment is done with a plastic head mallet because they are tight (close German tolerances).
On the 1919A4 Forum, there was a discussion about this, and "loboslanding" posted the instructions on how to make the Mount adjustments. It has been a while and the thread is probably in the Archeive section of the Forum. Hope this helps a little!
