Now it is easyer to see how the cradel is bent out of line. I gess it must have fallen of a lorry or been hit by something.
Also the endpiece of the cradel is a bit out of line, but have no pic of that for the moment.

Inner cradelframe sems OK, but is missing its hingde. It is also marked with "34" . Have no ide why...
Re: MG34 lafette restoration

Re: MG34 lafette restoration
What an interesting group of parts. Hope that you have more small parts. Like the ones that go around the the mg34 barrel shroud. It looks like you have some, to all of the trigger group. Is it complete or not?
Interesting and you should still have a few parts left over to sell so you might get a few of your dollars back.
Well check out
http://mg34.com/
for more parts. Call and ask for Greg so you can talk to him about lafette parts as he may have some not pictured.
Please keep us posted. Anyone have any spare lafette parts to help out??

Re: MG34 lafette restoration
Ok, on the first one. Trigger group looks like in might all be there, lots of oil and try to get it free and working again. Good Luck.
Second one, mg34 1938, (that's nice) that's been redone into a mg42 lafette. I would treat as two different items. It has it's own history. Therefore I would try to restore it that way. As an mg42 that is.
Good Luck

Re: MG34 lafette restoration
Ok, so its seems like I have to buy some parts from The US and get them shiped to Norway(first time in history parts for Lafettes is imported to Norway?)
Allegheny Arsenal is where I want to buy the parts, only thing is they dont export.
I know I have some relatives over there, but dont know them that much that I can as that favour.
Is there anyone on the forum that will/can buy the parts and ship them to me in Norway?
I will pre-pay to the buyer.
Send me an PM.

Talk to Folke who is on this board. He wrote the MG34 books. Also try
http://www.bergflak.com/
both are in your area. That way you avoid some shipping problems.
Good Luck.
