I need to get a top cover blued in the early German WWII style. The thing is under modern black finish now. Thanks.

The prices they offer are very good. What finish of gun bluing that they offer which would be the closest to original finish for k98 Mausers or other WWII German guns? You don't want a "Russian Captured" flat black appearance, but you don't want to polish off the milling marks from the steel just to get it shiny enough either. Opinions?

I think the nitre bluing is probably the closest to the original finish. They will preserve all the markings and can make the finish without any bright sheen to it. Best thing to do is get a hold of Glenrock, talk to Phil or Doug and tell them what you need. They don't charge for quotes.
