Take a close look at your film. You can see the ejection port cover flopping around and the brass hitting said.

I just put a new sping on, door is TIGHT against the receiver when open now. I knew it had to be something simple. But geez, that it could be something that simple...

I just played the original high res video in slo mo, and that door is obviously closing.....

Oh man I love this thread! Occam's razor prevails once again! The other day I tested one of my newly built M53s and it didn't function worth a darn. All I had to do was clean out cosmoline that was freezing up in the cold weather zapping energy from the bolt.

That was it. That stupid little spring was the problem. Replaced a tiny, little, cheap spring, and the gun roars like a lion now.

Well, let that be a lesson to us. If something, anything, is broken or not working, it needs fixed before we start an in depth analysis.
