MG42 lubrication
I am getting ready to test fire my MG42 and need some information on what lub is best, its a full auto. right now it is completely dry. I am waiting the books to arrive and I did not see anything on here using search function. any help would be appreciated

I lightly grease the rails (from front to back) on my 42 with a few pumps from a grease gun, well spread around, and a thin layer on the bolt surfaces that contact the rails. Extreme care not to miss a spot isn't necessary, since the bolt itself spreads it around. I put a squirt or two of oil in the trigger group and a few drops on the feed levers/pawls and bolt head.
Putting anything on the nozzle inside the muzzle booster just makes it accumulate more powder residue, so nothing is needed there.
It's always nice to lube the cocking handle track, too.
