intrest in repro buttstock assault sling brackets

Post by TOM R »

ok guys I had more people pm me for these then I had in original so I am gonna repro them, I got flats made up these are exact copies of an original just need to make up the swivels, let me know how much intrest there is to see if it is worth me proceeding and what price would you guys be willing to pay? all parts are hand made by me

kit will include

1 assault sling bracket in flat form

1 rear sling swivel with rivet

1 front sling swivel

the reason for flats is all the ones i had were made to the stock and not all stocks were the same so you need to bend it around your stock (easy to do 14 gauge? mild steel) tack weld where the halves come together install swivel with rivet, install 2 parts of front swivel on the reciever and weld together, if you welded up a reciever then this is cake

below is a pic of an original on a stock next pic is that same original on the bottom and the repros on the top please post here so i can gauge intrest and work up a price thanks :D

Considering the price of the 8mm loader conversion, which was stamped also, I would say $10 for the flat. These would need to be custom fit to our reciever by us correct? I am not sure how you are making the sling attachment , but I would start at $10 for just the flat.
My $.02

smoggle these are not stamped they are each hand cut and not with snips since the metal is to heavy for snips

I meant they were formed when I said stamped. They were EDM cut at his work if I remember right. Guy lived 10 minutes away. They shear or bandsaw cut?

ok guys I still got to make up the swivels but i did get time today to take a flat and form it upon a bakelite stock took about 10 minutes with a ball pien hammer and vise, I wanted to be sure this was feesable for the average guy with household tools to make up, it fits nice on a bakelite stock, i think instead of a instruction sheet I will post a tutorial here with pics, I will keep at this as time and health permits, want to make up all the kits so they are ready to go before takin any money :D
