Don't worry. I am sure that BRP will be the first to offer a proven receiver to the public again in the next few months.

Now you need to open the box, go through the parts, clean the many pounds of gooey sticky cosmoline that is on every surface and in every nook and cranny, and make sure they sent you all the parts they were supposed to. ...Then wait for a semi receiver.

If you can weld (or know somebody who can), buy a cut receiver and get to it!

You will end up with a REAL MG42 (at least, the receiver).

Welding the pieces up is not that hard.

First, figure out which parts are missing. I don't mean the receiver, I mean all the little springs, pins, etc. Then, fit all that you can to see what doesn't fit or work.

For example, the Dangola kit I got almost 2 yrs ago:
- missing recuperator nut, the other one doesn't fit either screw.
- barrel door screw doesn't screw (too small)
- missing small pins for sights

If you're missing slightly larger, but easily overlooked, parts it might be a real bear to replace them later.

Got mine also and I'm very pleased. Seems to be in very good shape, barrel is good to excellent with no pitting. Internal parts are also in great shape and show very litle wear.

I'm soaking them now and will go through them to see what's missing, but first impression is very positive.
