Easy solution to your dummy round woes. Make your own, load up some empty 5.56 brass.
As for the links I can find a handful for you. I won't be back in the country for a few months but just remind me (I'm on 1919a4.com also) and I'll be happy to send you some links and 5.56 dummies (if you don't have dies to make your own).
As for the drums I have heard the exact opposite. A few guys have told me they were the only HiCap worth owning. They are back in production now so I give one a try and let you all know.
If you can, please scan and post that article. Thanks in advance.

I'm basing what I say about the drums from discussions on the 10/22 board on AR15.com. Apparently the drums work for a while, but are very fragile. The little crank handle breaks fairly quickly. I'm using butler creek and eagle mags. They work fine so far.

Yeah, I may break down and roll my own dummies. If I ever get some people wanting my mini-Layfette tripods, I may include a short section of linked dummies.

I'm taking my new, never been fired MG42/22 to the lake today, along with my M1919. They both need a little breaking in.

I'm interested, how much and what is it made of? My dad has decided in his old age to get an mg42 22 himself so that might be perfect for him.

Oops double post...but I might as well ask if you have had any success finding a pic of a twin setup? I've been looking myself with no luck.

Here is the prototype up for sale:

Here is the new version being worked on:

The original has shorter legs, but they extend. It is very stable with the legs pulled in, not as stable extended. Both are made with heavy gauge copper pipe. The legs on the new version are longer, and made of steel conduit, but don't extend. The original works great on a table or bench. It works great on the ground too, but you have to get in the dirt.

The orginal is for sale for $75 plus shipping. The new version will probably be $100 + shipping, getting the conduit to mate up right is a b*tch!

The price includes straps and hardware to hold the MG42/22 in place. No modification to the gun is needed. I'll even include the modified BMF activator (which we broke cranking too hard at the Camden shoot) with the prototype. A new piece of threaded rod will probably have it running again. I won't need it for the twins, the cradle will be different and not block the crank.

Never give a sucker an even break, unless that sucker can break you in even halves!

The stock is high impact plastic. The tripod is thick walled copper tubing.

With .22 cartridges, you don't really need steel.

I have to finish an elevation mechanism for my M1919 on a MG42 AA tripod, then I plan to start the twin mount for my MG42/22's. THAT is going to be an interesting toy!
