Gee, and to think I'm still paying off my MG42 at the bank.... The best I've done in the last week is a $500 nazi state service flag, 7 gun manuals from Germany, another Deckungswinkelmesser that I'll resell on ebay, and a laser printer that prints both sides of the sheet at the same time (for printing manuals).

So many toys, so little time.

Nothing was wrong with it.... I just sold one a week ago on ebay, and I found another one in Germany and it should be here in about 5 more days. I have one that's a keeper, so whenever I can find one, or my buddy in Holland can find one, I get it and sell it here. Prices in Germany are high, but only about half of the craziness here.

The last one I sold went for $200, but it had a lot of brass showing through the paint from being carried. The next one should bring around $250, since it's a lot better looking.

It's a pain to pay for things out of the country. Bank fees are a killer for doing a transfer, and Europe just isn't into Paypal because over there, bank transfers are a very common way of conducting business.... more popular than checks, it would seem. When they don't take Paypal, they either want U.S. cash ($7 for registered mail), or Euro cash. It's tough to find Euros here. That's when I email a friend in Holland who takes care of the payment for me. I do the same thing for him for his purchases in the U.S., and when the balance gets over about $200, one of us sends the other one a Paypal payment to keep it fair. Of the 7 gun manuals I'm waiting for, I had Theo in Holland pay for 5 of them. The only way to do business across the Atlantic is to have someone on the other side of it. Until we hooked up, all either of us could do was watch the deals go past. We've probably traded $1,000 for each other's stuff. Someday, we'll have to meet.

a deckungswinkelmesser is a slope measurer. If you want to shoot over a hillside or tree line, you need to know it's elevation relative to yours - is it uphill? how much?

Then you can set your adjustments on the Lafette tripod accordingly. This little booger shows the angle of elevation to an object. It's a neat little thing, but very liimited in use. Every MG crew had one in order to give precise fire. They're very difficult to find nowadays. Rarity + want = high price.

I see, though i don't understand the high prices on some stuff especially ebay, people on there must be severly uninformed or got more money then brains cause i frequently see stuff go for alot more than you can buy it for

my biggest laugh is when books are bought for more money than Amazon.com or Barnes & Noble sells them for new, including shipping. I've seen $40 books sell for $75. I recently had a friend tell me about a book he got for $24.... I found it at B&N from one of their resellers. It had a dent in the bottom right corner of the cover. Shiping was $3.00, the book was one Dollar..... took me 2 minutes to find it and buy it for $20 less than he paid.

Reichpapers

Deckungswinkelmesser arrived today from Germany. It's in excellent condition, very little wear. It will be on ebay on Thursday for a 10 day auction. That way it will end on Sunday.

--- That is provided that nobody makes me an offer and I sell it off ebay..... The last one I sold had lots of wear, and it went for $201.50. This one from another seller went for $256, here's the link:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 84616&rd=1

The one I have for sale has a little les wear, and an aluminum instruction plate instead of brass, serial # 51119, so that makes it a little later than the one in the ad. Scans available by request, but they all look the same. Do I hear $250?

If I worked in one of the units that collected these weapons for destruction, I would be sure to remove everything I could easily return ie...buttstocks or grip panels.
