Re: Wiselite bolt smooth as butter, BRP bolt stuck

BTW, new MG3 rails like those sold through RTG are thicker than stock/kit M53 Yugo rails....which is why again I had said sometimes they need hit on a belt sander to make fit with some bolt and B/C's...lol.

Re: Wiselite bolt smooth as butter, BRP bolt stuck

I have an early Wiselite and they used both original bolts and bolt carriers on outside dimensions (other than the rear part for the recoil spring, though their internals were modified. Hence From what I'm gather your issue is not so much a WLA bolt issue as it is a factory Yugo variance....unless w...

Re: Display at the local gun store

Meh, most people have no idea what they are looking at other than it "looks like a MG42" same goes for the store owner. Unless they are trying to sell it as original I'd chalk it up to simply not knowing any better or thinking it looks cool (which it does) to causal viewers. No one will know other t...

Re: Need muzzle section of barrel shroud...

I have a couple that I neatly took the barrel bushing off of with a dremel...you could add that back on as RTG still sells that part. LMK if interested.

Re: Yugoslavian ON-M59 Sight

I think in our case most people are not out to fool a buyer as any serious buyer knows better...but rather a lot of guys with Yugo set ups (M53 and Yugo Lafette) just want to fill the void of the gap for a sight. At least in my case this was the goal ( I have 2 on my Yugo Lafette's along with a post...

I can't find an overall drawing (I thought I had one) but maybe this will help with the above info.

Re: Total receiver and shroud length??

Don't know if this helps you but: The measurement from the rear of the cam section opening to the rear (buttstock end) of receiver is 382mm (15.039'') according to the mg42 armorers manual. Spec. say it can be short by .2mm . Also the overall length from muzzle end to rear (not counting buttstock is...

Thanks for the reply.

I think I may try one.

Whats the total cost on a kit with the bolt head?

Has anyone here tried the 7.62x39 conversion?

I'm not doubting the maker of this conversion (I'm thinking of buying one) but I'd like to hear from outside sources who have tried one. Is it reliable? Does it run on cheap Wolf steel cased x39? Seems like a great alternative if so. Is it adjustable so far as gas depending on ammo? Is it drop in so...

Yep, as the other said, I'd clean them up and use them. I've gotten worse from kits.

Re: The board is back, more or less

Just found out the site was back up! :wnana: I asked about it on weapons guild and was told it was back up now. Seems I had saved a link on my speed dial and checked back that way now and then and it always said "website can not be found" (I assumed it was down the whole time). So I deleted that lin...

Re: MG-3 kits ---What do you think ?

Crushed AND cut? It would be way easier to use a M53 kit combined with a Global Machine receiver, then add the MG3 parts from RTG than to try to get that mess back into specs, plus the fact the real MG3 bolt head is gone...nope, I'll just keep building M53's. It's hard enough to get this platform to...

Re: Mg42 canvas sling

I bought green canvas sling from Numrich. Definitely post war in my case, but real 'surplus'. It has really cheap attaching hardware and no padding. It was cheap if I recall (like $10). It's looks like maybe Spanish?? Perhaps for their 5.56 belt fed the CETME Ameli that is similar to the MG42/3? But...

Re: Seeking a gunsmith for a Wiselite M53, Frustrated and Out of ideas.

Most gunsmiths do not want to touch these conversions, so why not fix it yourself? We can help you. (I do not have an FFL BTW)....but I'll throw some tips out there which may help. I've built several of these in SA (M53 and MG3 clones) and helped many more with their builds. Sounds like your grip st...

Re: Weld up reciever or use a 80%?

IMO its easier to buy a kit that has the front shroud section cut off as long possible in the rear like Centerfire has (usually with the front rail and recuperator holes), this way you can square it up in the rear past the camming piece area (saves from camming piece fitting), then use an 80% receiv...

Re: Bolt stuck

I've more than once gotten a bolt locked into a barrel extension and forgot to install the charging handle while building, though this isn't your circumstance, a method that works well for me is to place a towel on a hard surface (like your garage floor) and with the butt stock removed give the gun ...
