.308 conversion
I have been sitting on a .308 conversion for several years. Found a stash of loose .308 here, contemplating changing one of my guns over. Examination of the components shows no booster.......I am under the impression that .308 takes a booster w/smaller hole...??? If so, is there a WW 2 style correct...

Re: Finally got to test fire the MG15 yesterday.....
I realize the Original posting here is quite old.......however........ I fielded a MG 15 Sunday w/a home made tripod. It is not without its short comings. The event I attended has a bit of a rise then some fall to the target area. Often times I see 'belly-down' guns bullets hitting the top of the hi...

Additonal MG 08 armor problems/pictures
I recently got another MG 08 on a sled, one I have had is ona Swiss mount. It came with several pieces of armor. I have had a terrible time trying to fit the armor on. I suspect it is repro after that was suggested; the hole for the scope seems to be on the wrong side!!!, which smacks of repro. And ...

Re: MG08 Armor Original or Repro? Can you tell?
Gents, I am getting in on this a bit late. I have the armor set, all 4 pieces, that includes the big square piece that covers everything. My big piece is a mystery to this point, it is painted camo on what I now believe to be the inside, putting the plain green paint out front. Makes no sense. My lo...

Re: Water cooled mg 15
I must admit to not reading every word in this thread, but I never did catch whether this is a FA gun or not???? I have an FA C & R version, and after sitting for any length of time, I have a real tough time getting it to cock. Once it comes free, seems to work ok and will stay that way if I remembe...

I am talking normal shooting range accumulations of bits of brass, small amounts of grit deposited by walking across ground cover, lubricating oil residue, grass and probably some others I have missed mentioning............We occasionally shoot in a strip mine area that creates all kinds of particle...

Reviewed RTG site. I will have to spend some time going through a box of parts I found. I have resurrected the tacky grip assembly mentioned earlier. It is WW 2 German. I ordered a MG 3 assembly. When I am comfortable w/contents of my 'box', I will re-review the parts sites and go from there. Local ...

Help!!!!!!! Broke MG 42
I have a dfb gun that refused to operate correctly last two times out. Today I found a part broken off inside the front of the trigger housing. This part was spot welded on whenever and the inspector struck it so hard w/his stamp that it bent the sheetmetal and put the small spot weld in a strain th...
