I bought one, got club price though I figure to use it on my Faux Kubel, built from a '73 "Thing". It's a nice piece of kit, I think it's post war, account I don't see any marks on it, but I still need to strip it.

I just got one of the Spanish ones in a trade. Since I don't do "real" re-inacting like DA, and my Kubel is really a "chopped and channeled" '73 Thing, with a shield it would look close enough for me :D You could mount the shield on the flange at the rear of the front section, and that would help to...

Do you suppose the plates with the rolled up ears are to keep the carrier centered on the bracket that Chuckm is looking for a picture of?

High Noon :D Most places call the German service round the 8mm Mauser. So, you are looking for gauges, etc. for that, or 8x57....another way they are sometimes listed. You will want the Go and the No-Go gauges. The Field gauge is more of an "it's wore out" gauge. Your bolt should close on the Go gau...
