Have bought some of thebtranslated ones for mg42 and my rpd unfortunitly they are packed away right niw with my other manuals.... and fond that a spring from an ar15 worked after trimming it a littlw...

I took apart my yugo top cover a couple of weeks ago to give it a good cleaning inckuding the top cover latch. Went t reassemble it and can't find the soring fir the cover latch. Went online ti see if anyone had one and struck out at brp, sarco, robertrtb none showed any and at gunparts corp they sh...

Thanks for the reply. I was wishing it was like my 1919a4 where to run 30-06, 308, and 8mm was just a matter of switching cartridge stops but the topcover was the same.
I guess another question is so if it shows a mg1 top cover would that be a 8mm top cover with a 308 feed mechinisim

top cover question
ok here goes... is there a top cover ie. the mg1 top cover/feed tray at roberrtg that will work with both 8mm and 308? or will I need to have 2 top covers to do the 2 rounds. and right now only want to use the non disintegrating belts

cool.
the grip is no problem since have used that solution before on many guns so as to be able to not have to use a fixed mag, or belt in this case... just like i did with my rpd.
luckily the "fixes " aren't Permanent.

to bad I found this trhead to late. bought a wiselite grip from apex because I figured it would go with the wiselite receiver I bought from pirate....as the picture shows it is way to long

oh ok. so if want to do 8mm and the mg3 drums will need 2 diffrent top covers, and feed plates.

I'm glad I found this thread.. #1 I recieved from gpc and it is supposed to be for the mg42/m53 the best I can measure the opening in it is approx 10.8mm #2,3,4 came from my kit from apex #3 diameter is aprrox 11.59 mm. I'm curious did gpc sent me the wrong park or did mg42 in 8mm us a flash hider/b...
