Take a close look at your film. You can see the ejection port cover flopping around and the brass hitting said.

Thanks for the info Bob. I had only heard of negative reviews of the gun, never any positive information. Weapons showing lots of use means they worked.

I tried some brown bear 308 in my FA 42. After 20 rounds I gave up. About 25% had the primers come out. Not good!!!

Welcome to the site. All the internal parts to the bolts and extra bolts is a must. Make sure you check headspace on every bolt and barrel. Do not fire this weapon without the bolt catches. There is lots of good information in Folke Myrvang books and purchase John Baum manuals.

Newbies to any belt feed should first shoot off a tripod or in the prone postion. It is dificult enough to keep an MG42 on the table with an experinced shooter much less an inexperienced shooter.
