Re: MG34 Trommelhalter

One of the guys on the Machinegunboards.com said that this seller posting this very same MG-34 cover is a scammer who has ripped off other fellows. STEER CLEAR. This guy should be banned ASAP, John.

Re: Bipod Orientation

My old MG-42 bipod would fold in one direction and lock about 25 degrees from vertical in the other. When firing, I would orient the bipod such that it would lock when the muzzle is pushe forward. The legs would be angled slightly rearward. Why? Because you could wedge the gun lightly between the lo...

Re: New (to me) 1917 Spandau MG-08/15 !

I still pop in from time to time because of the friends here. I haven't test fired the MG-08/15 yet. I still have to make a belt loading tray with a bar press to load 15 round at a time. I bought a spare barrel in good shape recently, which will prove useful. Hope you can find that front sight leaf,...

Re: New (to me) 1917 Spandau MG-08/15 !

Also, a big shout out of THANK YOU to Robert Naess of Black River Militaria, who spent a few hours of his time helping me diagnose and fix a problem with the lock mechanism in which the ejector was not operating properly. Those leaf springs down deep in the receiver which caused the problem are hard...

New (to me) 1917 Spandau MG-08/15 !

Hello old friends (those who are still here). A bit of news: I recently purchased an MG-08/15 and just got done machining the last missing part, the steam hose connector. Many of you know finding that part is impossible these days, along with many other parts on these old guns. So, you sometimes hav...

Re: WTB: M53/MG42 Bolt Assembly

All I ever shot was original German parts in the MG-42. Have you experienced a history of original German parts failing?

Anyhow, I have a few original complete German MG-42 bolts bolts available for $300 plus postage.

PM me at ksuleski at comcast dot net.

Re: MG42

Are the chambers in your barrel smooth? Are you having problems with casing stickage in the chamber? Having problems with extraction? Steel casings do not shrink instantly after firing as much as brass cased ammo. Romanian 8mm has an excellent reputation as far as surplus goes. I used it exclusively...

Re: MG 08/15 - Need Advice

I scan the photos at 600 dpi, and use Photoshop to enhance them, and I print the manuals at 1200 dpi. Every photo is the best it can be, but some of them were really crap to start with, and I can only do so much. Often the pictures in the translation are better than they were in the originals. My w...

Re: heart attack

I just passed another kidney stone, my third one. Not as dangerous as a heart attack, but painful. It truly does suck. The rock is in a plastic baggy on the desk in front of me. The thing has a nasty sharp hook on one side. How it managed to work its way out is beyond me. I'm saving it as a souvenir.

Re: MG 08/15 - Need Advice

Well the manual had unexpectedly clear photos for a copy. I can actually see what the photos are demonstrating. It also fills in a few informational holes that The Devil's Paintbrush doesn't show. Great manual!
