Re: Columbia wouldn't accept our deported aliens

I thought Biden said he couldn't do any of this stuff, and it was all congress's fault. We were lied to.

Columbia wouldn't accept our deported aliens

Columbia wouldn't let our planeload of Columbian arrested illegal immigrants. Trump told them 25% tariff, and get your diplomats out of our country. One hour later the Columbian president decided he would accept them.
I think this picture sums it up pretty well.

Re: MG34 Trommelhalter

The two ads for the trommelhalter and doppeltrommel were deleted. He was using two different gmail email addresses. First posts on here. Nope, not having it. Been running this board for years, this is the first time an ad spoke to me and said scam out loud. The pictures were cleaned of all informati...

New guy, the email address this guy gives as a contact doesn't match the email that was used for registering.

I'd use extreme caution in making any deal.

Re: WTB: MG42 Barrel Change Door SCREW (large flathead)

If you get the hole re-threaded and the screw is secure when you assemble it, you can always use black (permanent) loctite on it. Red loctite is good too, but it can be removed by heating to 500 degrees F. That's the temp when it degrades and allows unscrewing it. Or you could just tack weld the hol...

Re: WTB: MG42 Barrel Change Door SCREW (large flathead)

The problem with getting a used screw is that someone getting it out of the door latch will likely break off the peened part that makes it stay in place.

Re: WTB: MG42 Barrel Change Door SCREW (large flathead)

For the cost of a barrel door, someone could set up a CNC machine to make some for you, and then you could sell the extras to recover your costs.

Re: WTB: MG42 Barrel Change Door SCREW (large flathead)

Buying a rivet set and replacing the entire barrel door is also an option. If Rocker doesn't have just a screw, you may be able to find the whole door. The screw is a rivet on the end, with threads in the middle. The rivet part holds it from unscrewing from the door. Often if removed, it's ruined be...

Re: How to use MG34-42 Ranging Bar?

OK, I just went looking. The "ranging bar" is used to calibrate the optical range finder shown on the same page. Each end of the tube on the range finder has a lens. When you look through the eyepiece, the images from opposite ends of the tube are shown one on top of the other. Align the images, and...

Re: How to use MG34-42 Ranging Bar?

Do you know how to post a link to the website page? IMA is one of the worst sites for truthfulness with descriptions. Sometimes they just make up things. Things are often called prototypes or experimental, when they're actually mismatched parts that someone bolted together, or totally misidentifed a...

Give a better description or picture of what you're calling a "ranging bar".

Re: MG42 Barrel Dissassembly

Tight as you can get it without bending anything, then dimple the joint to keep it from unscrewing.

I guess you're looking for a foot-pounds spec: I never read anything specific about that in any of the repair manuals.

Re: Still a bit confused about the heavy bolts.

The difference between bolts is the weight of the bolt body. I've not seen any variation of the bolt heads. Medium and heavy bolts are used to reduce the rate of fire, and must be used with the appropriate matching bolt buffer, which is usually harder to find that the bolts.
