How to fix the barrel door rivets ? or screws?

Hi,

I've too replace a door barrel on a mg53 , I know we can easely find some rivets or screws on an original mg42?
Do you have any pics of the differents versions? How can we install rivets? Do we need a particular tool like a rivet gun?

bolts get in the way on the lafette - use rivets. They're $18 at RTG.

Tell ya a TRICK most folks don't know...if your kit came with a demilled Cam Piece, the large, long rivet is typically included with the head milled off. THAT RIVET is the same dia. as the barrel gate rivets so you can cut two small rivets to size from it, lock them in a vise and drill small dimples in the ends for flaring. You will have ORIGINAL WWII rivets for your rebuild.
