Firing Pin Assistance
Firing Pin Assistance
Thinking of switching my wla 53 from a 2 piece to one piece firing pin. I was just curious as to if anyone has done this before, and what it would entail in order to do this.
Re: Firing Pin Assistance
There are several ways you can go. I do believe a couple of guys here will do a bolt mod for you, how much I don't know. I did a one piece about a month ago. Look up ejector funcution. I posted some pics in that thread.
Re: Firing Pin Assistance
Thank you. WLA was dicking me around for a while. It seems that they are under new management now, but they want $80 for a replacement firing pin set up. A one piece is $30, so I figure $30 and a little mod that I may be able to do myself will be better.

Re: Firing Pin Assistance
I put a BRP FP setup in my WLA for the same reason. I got sick of being dicked around by wiselite. I used a BRP drilled bolt wedge, http://www.brpguns.com/products/MG42-Se ... g-Pin.html, and the 1pc BRP FP and spring. I did have to make a spacer for the rear of the bolt and cut down the ejector spoon a little bit. The bushing is because the WLA bolt has the rear bolt pin(the thing that sticks up into the topcover) doesn't go all the way through the bolt like BRP does. So there is about 1/2" gap and the ejector spoon isn't long enough. I will get some pics tomorrow when I take mine apart after going to play to show you what I'm talking about. The conversion was pretty much drop in and just a tiny bit of tinkering but it does work awesome. After going 1pc I laugh when I see the WLA setup. No more runaways for me.
