Simple bolt hold open

Post by snekrz »

The lack of a BHO bugged me. Also the spring inside the charging handle broke. When does that happen? So I had an idea and replaced the spring and made a simple latch on the backside while I was at it. Doesnt look too much like ass and functions great. Im going to add a little serrated nub for the thumb as it doesnt always pop up and release whent he charging handle is pulled.

Nice idea. Much better than the stick to hold open like some use.
And the idea does blend in.

I forgot to add when I replaced the spring I made it so it has constant pressure on the forward hook so that the handle stays latched in the forward position during firing until you lift the handle.

Wow! How did I miss this post. I've been looking for an idea for a bolt hold open and this is a simple yet effective design. It also looks like it belongs there. Great idea!
